DataOS — Client User Guide
Your guide to the DataOS platform. DataOS provides marketing intelligence for your B2G (business-to-government) sponsorship investments, connecting your marketing engagements to government contract activity.
Getting Started
When you log in, you'll see the Home page with a catalog of available features. All data you see is scoped to your account — you'll only ever see your own venues, leads, and awards.
What Your Data Represents
- Venues — Marketing engagements (event sponsorships, webinars, papers, newsletters) that your company has participated in
- Leads — Government contacts who interacted with content at your sponsored venues
- Awards — Government contracts matched to your company through vendor name matching
- Attribution — Temporal links between your leads' engagements and government contract awards, proving marketing influence

The Data Explorer is your primary data browsing tool. Navigate the hierarchy: Your Account → Categories → Venues → Leads.
Filtering
Apply filters across multiple dimensions to focus on the data that matters:
| Filter | Description | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Format of the engagement | Event Sponsorship, Webinar, Paper |
| Tags | Topic of the content | Cybersecurity, Cloud, AI |
| State | Where the government contact works | California, Texas, New York |
| Job Function | Contact's department | IT, Finance, Public Safety |
| Job Role | Contact's seniority | Senior Management, Director |
| Gov Branch | Level of government | State, Municipal, County, Federal |
| Agency Function | Agency's mission | General Government, Public Safety |
| Attribution | Marketing influence link | Influence Window, Near Award |
| Year | Year of engagement | 2023, 2024, 2025 |
Filters combine as AND across dimensions, OR within a dimension. Tags support AND/OR toggle.

URL: /chat
Ask questions about your data in natural language. The AI assistant has access to your account data and can:
- Count and summarize venues, leads, and awards
- Filter and analyze by any dimension (state, category, tags, etc.)
- Show attribution analysis (which leads are linked to government contracts)
- Generate demographic breakdowns
- Compare venue performance
- Analyze engagement trends over time
Examples: - "How many leads do we have in Texas?" - "Show me our cybersecurity events with government contacts" - "What's our attribution breakdown by state?" - "Which venues had the most senior management contacts?"
The AI respects your account scope — it can only see your data.
Visualization

Embedded Power BI reports tailored to your account. Reports are pre-filtered to show your data. Available report types depend on your subscription level.
Lead Scoring
URL: /lead-scoring
Rank your government contacts by engagement quality using a configurable weighted formula:
- Role weight: Points by seniority (Senior Management = highest)
- Function weight: Points by department relevance
- Branch weight: Points by government level
- Agency weight: Points by agency mission alignment
- Recency bonus: Recent engagements (≤30 days) score 1.3x; older than 90 days score 0.9x
- Touch multiplier: Multiple engagements boost score (diminishing returns)
Adjust weights to match your targeting priorities. Save profiles for reuse. Export scored lists.
Award Collection
URL: /awards
View government contracts matched to your company through entity resolution. Submit new awards you'd like included in attribution analysis.
Understanding Attribution
Attribution connects a lead's engagement at your venue to a government contract award. Key concepts:
| Time Band | Definition | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Influence Window | 90-548 days before award | Your marketing likely influenced this contract |
| Near Award | < 90 days before award | Engagement too close to claim direct influence |
| Pre-Influence | > 548 days before award | Engagement predates the influence window |
| Post Award | After award date | Engagement happened after the contract |
Attribution counts reflect leads where the engagement jurisdiction matches the contract jurisdiction within the specified time window.
Understanding Lead Counts
Lead counts represent the number of government contacts captured through your sponsored venues. This measures purchased product fulfillment — it's the delivery on your sponsorship investment.
- 500 leads = your sponsorship package delivered 500 government contacts
- Lead counts are NOT engagement metrics or relationship indicators
- Behavioral engagement (logins, clicks, email opens) is tracked separately
Data Freshness
Your data is updated through our ETL pipeline. Contact your account manager for information about data refresh schedules. When new data is loaded, your filters and views will automatically reflect the updated counts.
